ARTICLE: Plastic bags penalized in China

Posted on May 31st, 2008 by Kenneth : Idea Gardener Kenneth

Plastic bags penalized in China.

Upon reading that I was suprised of the act. Surprised in a way that a huge (size and population) country may pull it off. The size of the country may pose a hinderance or something but if a country with a population many times larger than the U.S. can save on plastic bags, then why can we?

Beat the System

Posted on Jan 5th, 2008 by Kenneth : Idea Gardener Kenneth
Most of us live in the 'System'. The System includes most rules of popular society, what is expected of us, and what is expected to become of us, etc.

What I am saying about the System is to beat the System. What I mean to "beat" it is to do ways no one else has done before, or even learning the system and controlling it for the good.

For college students, it is expected for most of us that we finish school and then after that, work for a job that pertains to your major and also have modest amount of income. I thought about it and I thought, yeah I should beat the System. I'm a Horticulture and I like my major but I don't want to work right away in a nearby nursey. I want to see the world. I want to turn the world. I want to be free from society... at least for a year or so. And then settle somewhere far.

Don't get me wrong as I am not saying "Against the System" as opposed to beating it. Being against the system are people like criminals, terrorists, etc. Obviously they are going against the rules and they are doing it for their bad demeanor.

Again, I'm not advocating resentment or opposition to any government, country, society, etc. I'm just observing. This blog entry is just a start of this idea as I try to translate these thoughts from my head to writing. Expect further installments of this blog. Any comments are welcome. Thanks and Happy New Year!
